Since 5 June 2016 Italy has has recognised (finally I can say) same-sex civil union. To photograph a Civil Union is something really touchy as in Italy we fight a lot for this right. Is not properly a wedding, is a legally recognized arrangement between same sex people. My country is not really the best in the rights field, and we were pretty late from other country to accept this kind of union. Love is love and the State should be give the same rights to have an equal life, straight, gay, lesbian.
So I was so happy when Antonio e Fabio choose me as a photographer to make memories of their Civil Union, they were together a lot of time and finally they choose to finalize their love.In Rome there are two place where you can have an official civil union:
Sala Rossa – Campidoglio,
Complesso Vignola Mattei – Caracalla
both are nice, the ceremony usually in those place is really quick, less than 30 minutes, but is enough to exchange promises and rings.
Fabio e Antonio has meet at the airport at Terminal 3
this story talk about flights, and terminals and airports as they are constantly travel for job (sure they are flight assistant)
after ceremony we choose to have some nice photos around imperial forum street and campidoglio area, this place is really nice, a sunset usually come directly and there are a lot of nice spot and is not really crowd, especially during summer time at sunset.
Good place to have reception? in a really local neighborhood, Testaccio, you can found an amazing restaurant with a lovely terrace, far from crowd of Saturday night.
And of course is gay friendly!
